Maximos the Confessor known as the Father of Byzantine Theology. He gave his life for defending the truth about Christ that He has two wills, one divine and the Other Human. He clarified the teaching about salvation as Theosis where we unite our human will to the divine. christ made this possible in the Incarnation where he united His divine will to our human will.
