on Base of Altar This icon represents the wraping of Jesus in the burial cloth after He has been taken down from the Cross to prepare Him to be put into His tomb. The Al;tar is a symbol for the tomb of Christ. This is the same image which is on the embroidered cloth that is carried around the church on Good Friday evening. |
