Blessing of the Waters of the  

Reedy River at Falls Park,  

Greenville, SC  2009

Parishes of Saint John the Ladder and Saint  George  Greek Orthodox Churches  gathered  at the Reedy river for a traditional Orthodox service of the Blessing of the waters that is  preferred  on Theophany, a day which celebrates the Baptism of Christ.

The procession began at the West End entrance to Falls Park in downtown Greenville and wound its way down to the edge of the river for the blessing.
