Why Red Eggs at Pascha?
Egg is symbol of new life: That spiritual experience enjoyed only in the life in Christ
The red color signifies the blood of Christ
The shell symbolizes His three-day entombment,
Its breaking represents His Resurrection by which the 'egg of life' brought forth a life.
The cracking of the red eggs symbolizes a mutual wish for breaking one's bonds of sin and misery and for entering the new life issuing from Christ's Resurrection.
