The St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Greenville, SC features a vibrant and culturally accurate youth Greek Dance Program. Over 140 St. George students participate and practice traditional regional folk dances from all parts of Greece, in full culturally appropriate costumes.
They perform at various community invited events, with a special emphasis on the Annual Greek Festival, where the dancers are featured daily by popular demand.
The St. George Adelphie Troupe competes annually in an Archdiocese sponsored event held in various Church locations throughout the diocese. Trophies and awards are presented annually for the highly skilled dances performed. Our St. George Troupe always manages to win several competitions for dancing and costumes.
