Beatitudes: Am I Living with the Heart of Christ?

Am I poor in spirit, recognizing how I miss the mark for what He expects of me?

Do I recognize my need for God in all areas of life, or do I rely too much on myself? (Matthew 5:3)

Do I mourn over my sins and the brokenness in the world?

Do I sincerely repent when I sin,.

Do I grieve over the suffering of others? (Matthew 5:4)

Am I gentle with others when they trouble me?

Do I avoid anger, resentment, or harsh words? (Matthew 5:5)

Do I hunger and thirst for righteousness?

Am I actively seeking to grow in holiness and align my actions with God’s will? (Matthew 5:6)

Am I merciful?

Do I forgive others, or do I hold aany grudges? (Matthew 5:7)

Am I pure in heart?

Are my thoughts, words, and actions motivated by love and free from hidden selfishness or impurity? (Matthew 5:8)

Am I a peacemaker?

Do I try to reconcile with others and promote peace, or do I stir up conflict? (Matthew 5:9)

Am I prepared to suffer for doing what is right?

Do I avoid doing God’s will out of fear of criticism or rejection? (Matthew 5:10-12)

 

Loving Others: Am I Treating People as God Desires?

Do I quickly reconcile with others when there is conflict?

Is there anyone with whom I need to make peace? (Matthew 5:23-24)

Do I harbor anger in my heart?

Have I allowed resentment to take root? 

Do I ask God for help to forgive? (Matthew 5:21-22)

Do I struggle with lustful thoughts or actions?

Am I careful about what I allow into my mind and heart? (Matthew 5:27-28)

Do I keep my promises and commitments?

Is my “Yes” truly “Yes,” and my “No” truly “No”? (Matthew 5:37)

Do I love my enemies and pray for those who have hurt me?

Do I hold hatred toward anyone, or do I ask God to bless even those who oppose me? (Matthew 5:43-44)

Do I resist seeking revenge?

Do I respond with kindness when I am mistreated? (Matthew 5:39)

 

Spiritual Practices: Am I Devoted to God with Sincerity?

Do I give to the poor with a pure heart?

Am I generous without seeking praise from others? (Matthew 6:1-4)

Do I pray regularly and sincerely?

Is my prayer life centered on God, or do I pray only when it is convenient? (Matthew 6:5-6)

Do I forgive others as I want God to forgive me?

Is there anyone I need to forgive? (Matthew 6:14-15)

Do I fast with humility?

Do I make sacrifices quietly, without drawing attention to myself? (Matthew 6:16-18)

Do I store up treasures in heaven rather than on earth?

Am I overly attached to material things, or do I seek first the Kingdom of God? (Matthew 6:19-21)

Do I trust God with my daily needs?

Do I struggle with worry, or do I rest in God’s providence? (Matthew 6:25-34)

 

Judging and Discernment: Am I Living with Integrity?

Am I quick to judge others?

Do I notice the faults of others while ignoring my own? (Matthew 7:1-5)

Do I ask, seek, and knock in prayer with faith?

Am I persistent in prayer, trusting that God will respond? (Matthew 7:7-8)

Do I treat others the way I want to be treated?

Am I considerate, respectful, and compassionate toward others? (Matthew 7:12)

Am I choosing the narrow path that leads to life?

Do I pursue God’s will even when it is difficult or unpopular? (Matthew 7:13-14)

Am I discerning of false teachers and false influences?

Do I allow unhealthy ideas or behaviors to influence my life? (Matthew 7:15-20)

Am I doing God’s will, or do I merely say the right things?

Do my actions reflect my faith? (Matthew 7:21-23)

Is my life built on the solid rock of Christ’s words?

Do I live according to Christ’s teachings, especially during difficult times? (Matthew 7:24-27)
